John Luna is a writer, artist and teacher who works primarily through poetry, critical writing, painting, sculpture and installation. His artwork and performance, including public readings and lectures, painting, collage, stencils, sculpture and drawing, have been exhibited primarily on the west coast of Canada and the United States. He has published poetry, catalogue essays and criticism in Canada, The United States, Australia, The Netherlands, and Indonesia. He is a founding faculty member of the Vancouver Island School of Art (2004-) and the Slide Room Gallery (2006-) in Victoria, British Columbia. He has taught  at the University of Victoria, the University of Lethbridge, the University of Calgary, the Vancouver Island School of Art, the Metchosin International Summer School of the Arts, The Art Gallery of Greater Victoria, The Victoria College of Art and Design, and Camosun College. He currently resides in Shawnigan Lake, British Columbia, and is on the teaching faculty of Brentwood College School. John Luna is married to Julie Luna; they have three children.
