These recent pieces were featured as part of the exhibition, “Private Spaces” at the Slide Room Gallery (Feb 26th-March 28th, 2016). Both works expand on (and in fact, contain) aspects of the book-based sculptures I exhibited at the Vancouver Island School of Art’s “Founder’s Exhibition” in 2015. These new works are part of an ongoing series of pieces that refer not only to books and collage, but to architectural maquettes; my intention is to incorporate them into a more focused installation sometime later this year (venue pending). The works seen here, Moon Palace (2015-16) and both balcony and tower (2015-2016), have been mounted on a podium and a stool, respectively, in reference to a series of lectures I presented in the gallery during the run of the exhibition.
